"If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them 'Go in peace, be warmed and filled,' and yet you do not give them what is neccessary for their body, what use is that?"
--James 2:15-16
Through our Pantry ministry, our church is able to show the love of Christ by being doers of the Word and not merely hearers
In today's tough economy, families have had to choose between buying food or medications. Some have had financial hardships and could not pay their monthly bills. Our church Pantry was formed for this very reason. Our Pantry takes in weekly donations, from our own church members, and offers a once-a-month shopping day. All families within our church can come into our pantry and shop for the items that they can use, for free.
Usually, families are able to go home with two paper grocery bags full of food. Just two bags of food can greatly reduce a family's monthly food bill, freeing up funds to buy medications or pay down bills. Our pantry also offers a clothing and household cupboard where families can pick out needed clothing or household items, such as dishes. This ministry has been a blessing to many families.
With continued donations and prayers, it is our hope that God will grow this ministry to an even larger scale, offering more food and clothing to those in need.
